Temple Icon Menu Concept

As I've been working on the Midtown Baptist Temple website and messing around with various concepts, I've grown very fond of the temple icon used for their mark. I noticed that the three steps closely resemble the mobile 'hamburger' menu that we've all grown accustomed to.

Though this concept could save real estate for a mobile header, I fear that users would not realize the steps were the menu trigger. Also, there is a risk that when trying to click on the menu button, you'd activate the home page link that is typically tied in with the logo click-state.
