Beard on a Mission
On August 20th, 2014, a Beard-a-thon was launched in Kansas City under the name of Beard on a Mission, aimed to raise money for a medical mission trip to Southeast Asia. Twenty men pledged not to shave for the next four months, all the while, finding sponsors willing to donate money for every eighth of an inch grown in beard length.
When the measuring tape was finally pulled out on December 20th and the pledges came in, a total of $7,154 was raised to help get a medical team's travel and start-up costs covered so the project could successfully launch.

We are so thankful for everyone that contributed– the beard-a-thon participants; the wives who had to endure prickly faces early on; the donors who generously gave money. It was a huge team effort and we are humbled by all the funding that came in.
